150 days out...
This training is awful. I'm remembering why I never trained for a January marathon while living in South Texas. I get up at 5am to walk the dogs and hit the pavement on the Seawall by 6am. This morning at 5am it was a muggy 85°. 2.5 miles followed by a 4 mile walk and then we'll do another 4 mile walk at 5pm for 10 miles for the day. My new Motorola Smart Watch isn't terrific. It has poor connectivity to Bluetooth. I should have listened to my running friend and bought what he told me to get. I'm returning the Motorola and going for the Samsung. I'll just keep searching until I find the best watch for myself. Music is a very important part of my running. Headed back now to walk 4 miles on the beach. 10 miles clocked today #4Darin. 150 days until the Chevron Houston Marathon.

161 days #4Darin
It's officially started! The next 161 days of my life are #4Darin! I'm running the Chevron Houston Marathon in remembrance of a friend who recently lost a battle with Cancer. He's pictured with my friend Tammy below.
I realized this morning just how important it's going to be to drop 25 lbs! I'm too heavy for a marathon right now. Diet will be very strict beginning today.
